NC31 1992 grading up to 1995 gauge panel with fuel gauge

Hey all, does anyone know whether it is physically possibly to just change from the standard fuel-gauge absent 1992 NC31 to the same layout as the 1995 model (with fuel gauge in centre of panel)??
I had to push my bike for 3 kms to the nearest gas station the other day as I got the calculation wrong about what didtance I could get from the amount of gas I put in it...
I know that the NC39 has a different frame which means that its fittings etc would not be usable on the NC31.
I am prepared to put in the effort as it looks a little more modern as well.
Thanks
Arthur

Hi Arthur, there needs to be a fuel sender unit on the tank, you would need to change the tank as well...

And the loom would need to relevant writing, not an easy task I don't think

Yes, actually I replaced the tank a few years back... so it already has the sender unit in it.
So I'll attack it from that point.
Hope to have it all sorted before the cold weather hits here when cannot move fingers.
I'll keep the post updated.
Am happy with the lines of the gauge panel minus the fuel gauge, but it's just the point about the convenience of having that quick glance down to confirm gas level instead of opening the cap and shaking the bike...
Cheers

The 'loom' is probably another name for 'main harness' ---
However the term 'relevant writing' has me beat!!
Could I run three replacement wires from the gauge unit to the sender unit wires directly?? (only 2 wire input sockets so that needs confirmation as well)...
Cheers

Relevant writing, the necessary wiring needed to make the sender/gauge work and the lights in the gauge etc.
I'm just having a quick think about it here and I think you might need a completely new loom. ( main harness).
You'll need to have the wiring for the fuel sender in the tank and the wiring for the fuel gauge as we've talked about but I think you'll also need to change the wiring for the temperature gauge as any bikes I've seen with the fuel gauge all have a temperature light rather than a temperature gauge.
