Hi. Re Magneto crank flywheel NC24 VFR 400. Can anyone tell me please the thread size on it so I can get the correct tool to finally remove it? M20 X 1.5? A simple bolt comes to mind !!? Many thanks. Chris

Welcome to the forum. I have a bolt in my toolbox, but I'll have to wait until I get home from work in a few hours to measure it...

Many thanks. I eagerly await to hear back. I have to strip the engine since someone dropped a bolt inside while one of the heads was removed !!! However, It came free with the bike so was a bonus. Taking the opportunity now to learn and eventually use as a spare, so checking the overall wear and condition. First time I have done this (as you probably have guessed). Looks good so far and this forum has already been very helpful and no doubt will be using it a heck of a lot more in the future... Thanks again.

ah ive just seen that.
its been literally 7 years since I last took an nc24 flywheel off and my flywheel puller is thousands of miles away >.<
it was m20 x 1.5 in my head
I seem to remember a peugeo sump plug bolt fitting it too
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/M20-x-1-5-Sum ... 1641753148
which is m20 x 1.5
I think if the op gets it off please let know what fit.
Ill stick with m20 x 1.5 for now
what does Rick O sell?

OK firstly, thanks to all who helped with advice about this. Having now finally removed the flywheel yesterday, I can once and for all put the bolt size issue to rest. The bolt required to remove the magneto flywheel on my NC24 was M20 X 1.5 with a firm tap to the bolt end while applying stress to turn it, using a copper hammer. I recommend copper so as not to damage the magnets. Hope this helps someone else. Thanks again. Chris
