Morning everyone.

Both my tyres are up for replacing, and I'd like to stick on a pair of MICHELIN Pilot Road 4 on.

I don't think I've got the 'stock' sized tyres on my CB400 SuperFour - there's currently a 150/70 on the back and a 110/70 on the front.

There's a Pilot Road 4 150/70 which I'll get for the rear, but the closest match to my current front they do is 120/70.

I've never personally replaced tyres on my bikes, always been lucky to buy them with enough tread and sell before they needed replacing.

Can I fit a 120/70 on a SuperFour? Will a 120/70 fit on the same wheel the 110/70 is on?

If not, there's at least a Pilot Road 3, Michelin's previous version, that comes as a 110/70, so I'll get that for the front if I need to.

Any advice appreciated!

I'm basing this on experience with my CB-1 rather than a super four but I believe the front wheels are the same. On both bikes the wheel should be 3 x 17 (you can find this cast on one of the 'spokes').

On the CB-1, the standard tyre is a 110 but you can fit a 120 no problem.
What I have found is that the front turns into a corner quicker and more easily with the 110 but feels a bit lazier with the 120. To be honest for everyday riding you won't really notice this but I have noticed it when doing trackdays.

Just wanted to report back that I'm now very happily running a 120/70 on the front without any issues on my CB400 SuperFour.

Not sure if it's just because it's a nice new tyre or the slightly different size is making a difference, but the bike generally feels much more responsive going into corners than it did on the old worn out Metzelers. Maybe it's just because I'm more confident now I have some proven grip :)
