Chain & Sprocket Q

Hi folks. Just bought a chain & sprocket kit from my RVF from Demon Tweaks.
In my Haynes manual it says 15T and 38T for the bike - but I've been supplied with 15T 40T along with a 525 chain. Is this correct or shall I contact Demon Tweaks?
If I put the wrong sprocket size on, the speedo will be out....

15/40 is standard for the VFR. The speedo will be out but not as much will matter (IMHO). More important you'll lose top speed but gain acceleration which is no bad thing at all really.

Had a quick look on the bike - it currently has 15/38 on. I'll get them to replace the rear sprocket...go with what I know. Thanks for the reply btw.

Unless you in stop start traffic / commuting which makes it total s**t to drive.

I prefer mine on 15/40 myself, but each to their own.

Guys,is there a difference between Rvf and Vfr? I've got a feeling there are differences between gearbox ratios and so there might well be differences in sprockets. My Rvf runs 15/38 btw, and I don't want to lose any top speed..

Yes.
RVF is 15/38. VFR is 15/40
Buying kit from Demontweaks they sent me a 15/40 and a 108 link chain...they took it back. Buying from WeMoto they sent me the correct 15/38 and a 102 link chain.

RVF is 38t because rear wheel is 17" not 18" as VFR, so maintains similar overall gearing.
