CDI Hire?

Hey there peeps,

I'm trying to sort out this NC30 I purchased earlier this summer. There is a dead spot around 9k rpm (Dead as in worse than flat, will not rev through 9k), very narrow range of death, and doesn't correspond to the 180kmh limiter in any gear, haha! The bike revs Ok if I drop down a gear, it only seems to be that rpm. I realise this could be anything, but this suggests electrics to me. I figure I'll start at the back and work my way forward, so has anyone got a CDI they'd be willing to 'rent' to me while I try parts? If you have spares, it may be easiest for me to hire/purchase the CDI and coils off you in one go and swap out individual parts as I go.

If anyone has any other brilliant ideas as to what it may be, I'd gladly welcome suggestions. For reference, I've pulled the carbs, replaced the insulating rubbers with new, put in Rick Oliver's needles, and mains are 118 front/120 rear, float heights correct, carbs are clean, air filter/s are new, and airbox/intake are all stock, exhaust is a carbon slip-on on the stock, chopped system. I also removed the M-Max de-restrictor box it came with to make sure that wasn't causing problems; I'll leave that off for now.

Obviously, I'll pay shipping/handling/beer money.
