New to all this so any help to a newbie would be much appreciated.
Was rebuilding the clutch on my nc24 with new friction plates and heavy duty springs. Soaked the plates over night as recommended and started the rebuild. Replaced the front plate that the springs insert into and began tightening the four bbolts and then BANG. How much do I tighten these bolts.....The springs broke through the aluminium and now I'm screwed. I don't even know what this part is called that I can search for a new one....Please help....

That would be your pressure plate I'm thinking. And if the springs broke through the plate, you have other problems. I'd consider not using those springs again and double checking the assembly to make sure you have it in there correctly.

Thanks for the reply. Should I nip the four bolts right up. Maybe the new heavy duty springs were too heavy duty. So I need a new pressure plate. The joys. Was very careful about the assembly and am pretty sure it's correct.

I'm sure there is a torque spec for those bolts. I'll see if I can find them when I get home from work. I'm willing to bet the springs were either too stiff or the wrong length. If it were my bike, I'd go back to OE.

OE?
Springs were of equal length but a fair bit stiffer. Found torque settings else where on this site where it was said 18Nm does that sound reasonable. Pitty I didn't look it up before I done harm.

It does. I looked in the Haynes and the only torque for the NC24 I could find was for the clutch nut, at 65Nm.
OE=Original Equipment.

I can just about post text ha. I think I may have found my main problem. As the old clutch was well wore the clutch was adjusted out to the last. When I replaced all the friction plates and bolted back on the pressure plate there was too much pressure. I can't upload pics because I just don't know how.

That doesn't make too much sense to me...the adjustment should not have an effect on how much pressure is on the pressure plate.
