2tk tail on 3en1

Post by 400newb »

Hi Guys,

Been following the forum for a while now, just bought a 3en1 to put on the track, looking for a single seat unit to fit, would the 2tk fit the 3en1? It seems the closest thing as i cant find a single piece for a 3en1. Ive also searched high and low for a 2tk seat and cant seem to find one anywhere! Would anyone know where to get one?

Now do you want the long answer to this or the abridged version ?

No it wont fit straight on...the main frames are too different I think.
It would fit straight on a Genesis though.

You would need the 2TK tank cover too....or a big hole at the back of the 3EN1 tank where the old seat fitted.

Had you been watching the Bay of fleas on Sunday ;

Seat unit/saddle/undertray (supports the 2TK seat at rear)/infact everything ....EXCEPT the ally subframe needed to convert a Genesis to 2TK seat went for less than £60 the lot. BIN.

It only lasted 30 minutes.....and I surprised myself not buying it for spares. !

I have a 3EN1 single seat unit but sorry it's not for sale.
I bought it private with other stuff and have no link but some manufacturer has made it from a tidy mould.
It uses the std.riders seat.

Can you not glass in or fabricate plastic panels to fill the pass seat /taillight voids ?

Thanks for the info! might just have a subframe knocked up for an rsw250 seat i have in the garage if the 2tk seat would need work also.

Thats abit annoying about the one you mentiond on ebay, though i only bought the bike today on impulse as it was cheap.

I suppose a track fairing will also be a b***h to track down, will the 3tj with some work fit?

The track fairing will be the easiest to source.

The nosecone is the exact same part as the 600 3HE and the 2 bottom sides are only slightly longer.
As it will be in glass and undrilled this will no be a problem as far as I can see.

This bloke does the nosecone and the right side panel.
He never advertises the left side panel though............
Work out his methodology on that one ! I can't.

I suppose there must be a vast market for selling 2/3rds of a new fairing kit !.....NOT.

I did wonder about the 3he.

Maybe he likes the look of the left hand casings!

Looks like body work is the least of the troubles right now, running very rich, she just bogs down and cuts out on pull off.

Unfortunately ARD have now stopped producing Fzr and many other of the older machine fibreglass parts.

The volume of sales was no longer able to sustain the retention of the mouldings apparently.

I would still give them a call

They might still have some of the other Moulds tucked away which haven't been sold off yet
