I'm pretty sure its not the cable.Any ideas what it could be guys?

Check the nylon cup on the end of the speedo drive gearbox. Sometimes they get damaged and don't engage the sprocket bolt.

I don't see a nylon cup when I take the cable out the drive.Just metal piece which the cable slots over.

You need to unbolt the speedo drive from the front sprocket cover. Theres a nylon fitting there that tends to break - sometimes a sign that your speedo drive itself is a bit stiff and needs lubrication

Seems to be trying to work moving a little then dying again.

Nylon cup looks okay and when I spin it the speedo needle moves a little.What do I lubricate and with what?

the cable with spray grease(but not the top 4 inchs by speedo)or wd40,and the end with the same or normal hmp grease.

On closer inspection the nylon cup does look rounded off.Got a new one and fitting tomorrow.
