RVF Sprocket Interchangeability?

G’day Guys,
I have tried searching but I can’t find anything that helps.
I am looking at changing the chain and sprockets on my NC35 as the chain has stretched and there are obvious tight spots, making it impossible to get correct and even chain tension.
What I was wondering is what is how interchangeable are sprockets between bikes? Will any sprocket fit any bike or does the NC30/35 use specially designed sprockets for their particular hub stud pattern?
Does the front sprocket use a standard sized spline?
The reason that I ask is that RVF specific parts in Australia are few and far between. I have found unknown brand/quality sprockets for more than I would care to spend on them whereas I can order brand name gear from the UK, but it will take a while to get here and the price doubles due to postage.
What I’d like to do is walk into my local bike shop and ask for a 14t front and 40t rear sprocket from an R6 (for example) and have a wealth of different brands, colours etc. to choose from knowing that they all fit perfectly as there is far more aftermarket support for more modern/mainstream bikes.
Any information that you could provide would be greatly appreciated!
