NC30 Stuck in gear

After getting my little project back together I managed to get the carbs set up with a fuel supply to get it running. Fired up straight away but I cant get it into neutral? I stuck it in gear to tighten the front sprocket nut and now that seems to be a mistake.
When it was running i tried blipping the throttle as that seemed to work on my previous NC's.
Anyone have any other ideas to try or know of any potential problems I've caused myself?
Thanks
Craig

I had the same issue with my NC30 project. Check the shifter spline thingy (the bit that looks like this http://www.hondatwins.net/forums/attach ... lp-002.jpg)
by taking off the cover on the side (you will need to pull out the water pump too, no major drama though).
There is a little ring clip just past the part that is welded on to the shaft at a right angle, check the ring clip is on and also check that the bit that is welded on is not bent (mine was). I had to hit mine with a hammer to fix it.

Give that a whirl, sorry for the bad terminology I don't have my workshop manual handy.
