NC24 wheel size, restrictions etc...

As some of you may know I am restoring a pretty badly hacked up NC24. Drunkmunky was kind enough to deliver me a good chunk of usable bits in the form of a rolling chassis and other parts. But this has raised a few questions.
Firstly was the NC24 ever available with a 17 inch front wheel? The one I originally got has a 17 and Drunk's has a more normal 16 inch wheel.
The front forks on my original have adjustment down on the left hand leg but Drunkmunky's does not. Also the top yoke on the original seems to be an NC21 version whereas the donor is very definitely NC24.
Both have NC24 stamped into the headstock.
Is there a speed restrictor on the NC24?
Are there any other restrictions on the NC24 such as carb restriction plates or exhaust restrictions? The stock end can that came with Drunkmunky's seems to be really heavy with a rather small hole for such a big end can.

can is just well baffled, they make 60hp from new.
no restrictions as stock, just a flashing red light that comes on at 80km/h / 50mph, to warn you that you are speeding.
it never came with a 17" front, just a 16"
Perhaps it was changed to a cbr400 aero wheel? to give you better choice of tyres.
the forks dont have adjustment but anti-dive on the left leg of stock forks,

Thank Neosophist! I may well stick to the 17 inch front wheel if it doesn't mess up the speedo readings as this will give me a great (and cheaper) choice of rubber. The front wheel could well be from a 400 Aero as it doe shave solid mounted discs, not floating like the NC21/24.
60hp is not to be sniffed at. That must take it up to somewhere around 135mph? I think I shall just remove the bulb in the speed warning light so it doesn't distract...

same as most the other 400s.
flat out will porbably do around 130mph but these bikes are not made for that.. if you want to go that kind of speed get a 600 or 1000.
They are most fun between 0-100(mph) and short twisty race tracks.

130 is good enough for my wife.
I ride a tuned and tweaked Hayabusa. I was just wondering on those long trips out to camping grounds whether we would both have an overlapping window of performance fun we can enjoy together when we ride both bikes. Looks like this 400 will be just the ticket!

unless you are on a motorway or a really long straight road the vfr will be more enjoyable to ride than the hayabusa.
One of the reaons you find many 400 riders being much quicker in twisty sections than litre bike competitors (heck ive seen a cbr250 piss all over a cbr954 up a mountain before) is due to how easy in comparission the bikes are to ride.
very forgiving and not enough power to kill yourself with an accidental slip of the wrist.
get it running and have a blast on it yourself, once you get used to the drop in power you'll be surpirsed how well it rides.
Then you have the NC30 which has anchors in comparission with brakes and much better chassis and suspension.. still plenty of fun to be had on the nc24.
