NC29 Dropped to two

Afternoon.

Now this has been troubling me since last night.

I had no option but to take the '29 into work yesterday morning and all was dandy tickover nice and smooth and acceleration responsive. Although she seemed to be running a little rich.

On the way home after filtering through S.E London afternoon traffic at a set of traffic lights she decided to drop onto two/three and die. A short bit of persuasion she fired, now with caution I continued on my way keeping the revs up at lights until I managed to get to the A20 where I was able to open the throttle. Away she went back onto four and all was good.

I ended up doing a 70mile loop and she stayed running on four but I can now really hear the fuel pump and she seems a little rough on tickover......

I'm thinking that the rich running has buggered up the plugs???????

I thought I'd throw this out there before I get the spanners out as before I can play with this I've got to replace the stator and the reg/rec on the 955i  hence I was using the 29

Cheers all

Blocked slow jet probably, once you get past quater throttle it uses the main jet! Check the fuel filter and clean the carbs 8-)

Thanks I just wanted to see if there was any other suggestions before I whipped them off to adjust the rich running

Chaps.

I've had the carbs off today and looked into the float bowls.

There was a little sediment but nothing I'd worry too much about but cleaned them out and blew them through in anycase.

As she was running rich I've change the O rings on the pilot needles and set them to 2.25 turns out.

She still seems a little on the rich side to me but for the first time in ages I saw the temp needle rise to halfway and the fan come on. Says to me that shes not as rich as she was.

I'm considering winding the needles back in a 1/4 turn.

Before i do I thought I'd get the general feeling on here about it.

Cheers
