Hi all,

Ive just taken the forks off my 1991 nc29 and noticed that the fork stanchions are different :/ as you can see in the pictures the one on the left has two circlip grooves and the one on the right only has one... I think the one in the right is an original nc29 by the looks of it but im wondering what the other one might be out of, does anyone have an idea just from looking? Id just like to know so i can look up the specs and make sure its ok to use them as they are. Im replacing the seals which is why they are off the bike if anyone wanted to know.

Could they be from a cbr600 of the similar era?

I'd give Allbike engineering a call. They reproduce stations for most bikes so they should be able to help

It must be something like that but ive looked up a few and not seen any with 2 grooves for the circlips yet. I suppose I can measure them up properly when they are stripped down, if they turn out to be the same size and in good condition then ill probably just run with it. Still curious to know what it came off...

So i stripped the forks today, well parcially... one of them i could not get apart using the side hammer action with the seal circlip removed. it just keeps sticking when at full extension... im guessing the bushes are knackered? The other one is quite differnt inside to a normal nc29 fork so looks like ill be replacing them both. Does anyone know of what the best upgrade is or where to source secondhand decent original parts?
