3TJ fork and caliper rebuild

Well my ignorance of weeping forks seals has finally led to them blowing and covering the discs and pads with oil so time for a strip and rebuild. Firstly what do people consider good pads for a stock setup? Ive always been a fan of OEM nissin pads on the NC, are the OEM yam pads the way forward?
As for forks without going to the expense of different internals is there any improvement to be had over rebuilding to stock spec? Are the springs man enough for anything other than 7 stone japanese whippets?

I've used heavier 15w oil at the same quantities as stock and that seemed to help. I've used dunlopad and goldfren pads, buggered it I could tell the difference between the two. Never had any oem pads in to compare them to.

The FZR was always softly sprung, but add to that the age and you can see why they bounce a bit.

I use Bendix MRR pads in mine and they are bloody good!
Quite cheap as well.

I use similar pads to EvilChicken0 if that helps at all.

To be honest, refreshing the brake system for me helped more than the change of pads... but I don't think mine had been done since the bike was made.

Have a look at you pads and discs they might just be glazed, so go over the pads with emery cloth and clean the discs, then bed the pads in again. Go for a ride where you brake lightly at first then build up the pressure so build up the heat in the pads.
I had some generic green ones in when I got the black bike they weren't great. The last project I put in goldfen and although cheap they don't really bite ... they're not bad but I'll change them soon.

To be honest for the price of a set of pads id rather not risk it, discs are covered in oil so pads cant be in that great of condition now
