NC35 crank/rods in NC30 cases?

Been searching the archives but haven't found anything definitive.
Can I fit an NC35 crank and rods into an NC30 engine. Not for any kind of performance gain - purely on availability and cost of 2nd hand parts
Thanks
Luke

Would buying a used running engine not be cheaper than rebuilding what you got (if you are looking to save), they are running at £200 -> £300 on ebay.

The NC30 and NC35 connecting rods are the same part, the NC35 crankshaft is now listed as the superseding part number for the NLA NC30 crank so the two are interchangeable with no problem.
The only reason I can think of for why the NC35 crank should have a different part number in the first place is maybe the balance factor is slightly different to match the lighter pistons...?

2 main reasons against!: 1- I live in New Zealand where NC30 engines are non-existent and the last one cost me £250 to buy from the UK and 500 quid to ship it!
and 2 - this will be a tuned race engine so will be taken apart anyway

I wound up with an oil starved NC30 engine in the end which I think is salvageable, good to know the connecting rods ar the same as those will probably be the only parts I'll swap out

Luke -
If you do find yourself in need of engine internals I have a box full of good used pistons, rods etc. that I`ve taken from various NC30 motors, just mail me

Hi Rick
Thanks - looks like I will need a new crank. It was going well until I removed the last 2 rods. I have spare rods and pistons so all good there. Just seem to be having trouble finding crankshafts!
Thanks
Luke

Hi Luke, have a couple of cranks in parts bin if you want to take a look, not sure how good they are.
