Gaskets

Due to re fit my engine covers after painting them. I obviously need the two right hand gaskets which are readily available at reasonable prices.
Do I really need the front sprocket cover gasket and stator cover gasket. The stator cover doesn't have a gasket listed in the FZR600 parts catalogue that I have, although the 3EN2 model does ??
Also, going to remove cam cover for cleaning up. If it comes off without breaking the gasket, are these rubber ones re-useable
Cheers

The cam cover is reusable but a pain to fit, usr a bit is sealer to hols it in place, the sprocket cover one I would clean and reuse with a bit of sealant on it.

I looked into exactly this when I first started with the 400's over 3 years ago.
Do NOT fit the sprocket cover gasket; it only traps road grime in the area of the pushrod.
Heaven knows why Yamaha made it that shape anyhow; it only covers half the sealed area.
The Genny gasket is not really required ; a smidgen of silicon will do amply; although the gasket itself appears NLA
on the 400 prefix it is still available using a 600 unit prefix.
Reuse the camcover gasket as stated by others ; use a dab of silicon to locate the cam end caps.
Retighten evenly.

Inspect the cam cover gasket before you take it off, you're look for cracking in the cam end semi circles. If they ooze when you push them, then obviously they need replacing - use a OE gasket to be sure. I've used a 2 pattern gaskets, one fitted the other didn't (it was tight in the corners). It's a long job to refit them with the engine in place so do it once properly.

Cheers gents. Theres a lot more to these 400's than the RD400 I restored in the mid nineties.

Things move on a bit in 15 (?) years. Apart from the exup in the pipe the bikes are fairly straight forward
