So, I'm looking at replacing my engine covers, as they have some deep scratches from a perivous owners slide down the road, and was wondering if anyone has had any luck with the castings avalible from Chinese eBay sellers?
Failing that, a carbon cover to go over would do just the trick too. Thanks in advance.

I think some riders have bought them main thing they seem to have a slight colour mismatch. Make sure you order for your bike as 23 and 29 are different. I did ask about this a while back but the thread went on a tangent..

A colour mismatch doesn't worry me so much, the rest of the engine is so tarnished that I'm now getting the worst of it off with some T-Cut metal polish, which is working a treat (and slow going, but no biggie, its a slow burn project) but does mean they will not match the rest of the engine block anyway. Its just that the flea bay ones are so much cheaper than going through cmsnl. I can always take the right hand side off and get them both powder coated so they match each other.
And you won't really tell once the clothes go back on anyway

I've replaced my LHS engine cover with an eBay item and it is good as gold mate. I didn't care about the colour as I had it powder coated black anyway.

I also replaced my left side cover with one of the Chinese copys and it has been fine.
