Headlight fittings

Can anyone tell me the size of bolts needed to fit the headlight on a 3EN2 as I can't for the life of me find the original ones.
I have the 4 grommets in the nose frame but can't make out anything in the parts manual. The holes in the light look quite large

They're held on by the nose fairing - the 4 bolts that hold it on go through the headlights and the subframe to the long nuts.

When you put it together connect the headlights electrics then lay them in the top fairing then put onto the bike. Ideally you need three hands

Thanks for that, its coming back to me now
How did you clean up your engine, i.e. Block and all around the starter motor etc
And while I'm on, what colour paint did you use on your casings, and what type of primer ????

Nosecone; as per described by Evil.



I fit the lights to the nosecone and hold them in position with my left hand and have the nosecone in my right hand and quickly fit the nosecone over the birdcage frame.
You can manipulate the nosecone to get the studs to line up and hold the lights in place .

The correct fixing nuts are the same as the exhaust header nuts (6mm thread /10mm head but extra long & flanged.)

I have used these as a compromise on some units.

The casings were stripped washed in petrol and primed with a plastic primer, it's a clear coat, painted with 5 wheels silver and lacquered with Halfords wheel lacquer.
The engine was cleaned with paraffin, it isn't painted
