Hi, I'm rebuilding my 400nc30 I bought after being in a crash I have replaced the lights speedo ignition and the rest of the front end apart from the left hand switch gear but when I turn the ignition on there is no power if noticed the two connectors on the left hand side of the frame have nothing connected....they are down by the choke lever, one is brown the other is black...does anybody know what is supposed to be plugged in here?? Any help please!
Thanks, Kieron

Those two blocks are where the left hand switchgear plugs into the main harness. If you have no power check the fuses first - there is a main fuse under the red connector on the starter solenoid as well as the ones in the box under the seat.

Thank you very much! I've checked the fuses under the seat il have to take off the rest of plastics and look at main fuse, does the switchgear have two plugs on it or does it only plug into one of those connectors?
Should the bike have power and fire up without these two plugs connected?
Thanks, kieron

Yes, it should fire up with the left switchgear disconnected but it won`t if either the ignition switch or the right switchgear (both connectors are in the bunch attached to the right side fairing bracket) is unplugged.

Yeah there all plugged in it was the main fuse thanks it's turning over now and firing I'm Going to clean clean the carbs and put some plugs and fresh fuel in and try again tomorrow. Does the left switchgear plug into both of those connectors? I would of thought it would just have one plug :S

I've just seen on a different post that you do a fairing stay for an rvf so it takes a nc30 tank, does this mean I could get the bracket off of you and fit an rvf fairing to my nc?

No to fit a RVF fairing to a VFR your need to bend the VFR stay slightly

Ok apart from getting the rvf front mount is bending the stay the only other mod needed?

Your need a RVF rear subframe for the seat unit and your also need to mod the RVF front mount/subframe to fit the NC30 as the hole centres are different. Personally id use a NC30 front subframe and cut it up/mod it so it doesnt foul the RVF headlights, you may also need to raise or lower (i cant remember which) the point at which the front fairing bolts to the subframe bt that will be easier than modding a RVF subframe.

I think you've gone a bit to far there I only want to fit an rvf front fairing to my nc30 so the nose cone and side fairings not the seat unit so I'm thinking il need to bend the stay and swap the front mount (where headlights ect bolt up) is this all?
Am I right or have I miss read your post?
Thanks, kieron
