I am wondering if anyone can help with the past on my 92 NC30 R3.

I have looked all round google for the MoviStar-telefonica VFR400 NC30 but the only ones that pop up seem to be the Tyga ones.

I have what I believe to be a copy of the Colin Edwards 2004 CBR moto GP.

From the codes under the seat it used to be white red and blue, so at the very least am trying to discover a bit more about the bike.

Here is a few pictures of the bike itself and if it is as rare paint scheme as I believe someone must recognise it from some where.

It's not a factory paint scheme, it's aftermarket re-spray jobby

That was what I first thought. However am more inclined to think that it is part of a full fairing replacement like the Repsol ones currently on ebay.

I have established it should have looked like this when Honda sold it in 1992

If it's not been painted then it can only be a chinese replacment,
Honda never sold anything other than the standard scheme.

This is easy to sort out.

Take the panels off and see if they are genuine Honda panels or not.

If they have the Honda stampings in them then they have been resprayed orignals.

If they are lesser quality plastic then they are copy panels.

Copy panels are quite recent, during the mid 90s to the mid 2000s maybe of these bikes were crashed and repaired in all sorts of colour schemes.

Checking the panesl will tell you if this aftermarket scheme is on original panels ornot without hving to scrape away the paint.

I got it from near Burnley. It was a bit of a trek but IMO worth it. Yeah there is bits that it turns out need attention but 22 years old I expected a few gremlins.

Having done a little more research I have tracked it being registered for its first owner in this country about 20 minutes from me. Before disappearing for 3/5 years.

It is hard work finding out about the bike, but slowly working my way through its little niggles has shown me its not had much of a hard life with all the fairings being OE with correct date stamps to match the chassis number age.

Need to find some of the original rubbers for the footpegs, gear selector and brake then start looking at a fresh low radiator. Just generally making it a bit nicer ready for next year when hopefully I will be able attend a few trackdays.

If you have the money spare there are some tasty aftermarket radiators avaiable now, i.e. Rick Oliver.

due to the low position of the bottom rad combined with uk salt and what not it soon corrodes if not rinsed and cleaned often.
