Just a quick one know it's prob been covered before but can't seem to find it.
i have a 400rr 3tj. want to swap rear shock for an r6 one get re-valved etc for track use. Kayla at projection does the adapter but for 06 on model on (2CO) but is their any reason why the 5EB is any different as both model years have 120mm of travel. 5eb shocks are cheaper hence the question.

Yes, the remote adjuster sits across the frame on one and inline on the other ... the earlier one fouls

the 5eb 99-02 and 2co 06-present both run across it's the 02-06 5sl that runs inline and can't be used it's what is the difference between the 5eb and 2co they look the same except bottom mount is different.

If you state that the bottom mount is the only difference; I presume you mean the clevis/fork type versus the "eye" mount.
The eye type mount cannot be extended by use of an alloy piece safely.
There is no means to stop the eye mount "folding up" in the converter.
If this is what you mean; it's a right pisser as the pre 2006 shocks go for very little.

I had the same explained to me when I first became a member on here.
Try German Ebay; I was getting brand new take off shocks from there for about £65 delivered 2 years ago.
