GK76A breakdown

Hi all,

Not been here for an awful long time but now need your expert advise! Went for a evening ride on my gixxer and after approx 15 mins of steady riding came to a set of red lights. Once green I set off winding on the power to maybe 9-10k revs and got up to about 60mph to then lose power and a strange ticking noise on deceleration? Anyway pulled over and it died, all that was happening was the starter solenoid was clicking under the seat but nothing else? Bike got recovered and was wheeled into my garage and been sat there since. I did charge the battery to ensure plenty of juice was in it but still only the 'clicking' of the solenoid. It's been mentioned it could be the regulator/rectifier? I'm planning on having a mooch this weekend and thought your comments may help pin point the issue.

Thanks all
John

there will be some kind of short circuit somewhere around some moving part. rear shock might be a good candidate. check the wiring.
