rev limiter on nc30 hrc ignition module

Hi all,
I took the nc30 for a blast last night and on my way home I bounced off the limiter. The bike has an HRC box wired in and race pipe with carbs balanced and jetted and cleaned.
After the rev limiter cut in the bike would only fire on the the rear cylinders. Anyone else had this issue?
I haven't had a chance to check the coil pack or anything, but when I tried to start it again I could smell fuel so I am confident its not the carbs.
Can the rev limiter bugger the HRC box or the cdi?
Cheers

HRC box? You mean a top speed limit remover? (this doesnt do anything to the rev limit)
If its the HRC speed limit remover theres nothign inside it, it just shorts out two wires and passes thru the rest.
Rev limit shouldnt have any trouble unless there was somethign up with the bike? hard to say..
or do you mean chinese hrc copy box?

Hi neo, no it's the genuine HRC sp unit . In the ss-sp manual its block F 11 part no 30491 nka 000
I thought as u say this just removes the speed limit but wondered if something mat have tripped out in this unit or the cdi when the rev limiter cuts the spark to stop anymore revs damaging the engine?
If not it may just be the plugs are fecked. I'll check them when I get home.
Cheers

problem sorted, just a loose connector on the coil pack.
Cheers

Yes, all that does is short two wires togther, theres nothing inside it. all the wires pass through it apart from the limiter trip wire.. it cant really go wrong apart from coming loose and having bad connection.
Many sellers are hyping this thing up, when all it was sold for was to allow you to remove speedo unit for track bike on a JDM bike without having to cut the harness.
Like this.
And as for the chinese ignition boxes, there are quite a few boxes being made in china now, ive heard some being sold as HRC (no idea what map is in them) it wouldnt surprise me if its true as ive seen other chiense boxes for different bikes but they have no or a stupidly high rev limiter, which will damage the bike if you rev it that high.

Didn't someone either on here or facebook post that a Chinese copy ignition had let the bike run past 16K? I can't imagine that happening very often before a large bang!

Probably, not used a vfr one but i have seen chiense "race" boxes that dont have any rev limit on them which will let you rev the engine until the valves fall out...

Yes i had a chinese copy HRC one on my RVF and i threw a valve or 4 chasing a cbr600rr
I have to say though, the bike felt faster with that one than the genuine HRC box. This may well be in my head, but it sure felt faster.

Maybe it was, but it sounds like you were burning the candle at both ends! I'm sure you could get 100bhp or more out of one of these engines if you used a turbo or nitrous, but I doubt it would produced them for very long... lol
