Hello everyone
I have previously bought a 1988 honda vfr 400 nc24 with 13k miles. The bike is getting a full restoration as it's my first vfr I am struggling with a few things
1. I have been looking at brake pads and seen thing a such as RH, RH and HH what do these mean ?
2. Wheel bearings I no I need 2 for the front but how many for the rear as 1 website says rear wheel bearing left and another website says rear wheel bearing right ?
Any help and advice would be very grateful
Thank you

It's a single side swinging arm so you have multiple bearings, left and right probabyl just refer to the side of the bearing.. dont be tempted to use cheap knockoffs, use decent bearings.
The rear hub consists of a needle roller, a speacial double bearings and another caged ball race on the cushdrive cover. best to change all 3.
the rh etc just refers to the year, brake pads are the same between them all

Does the HH not refer to the brake pad compound?

As above, I thought HH referred to the material of the pad?

There's some argument about brand preference but I use NGK and never had any issues.

Those are NOT nc24 plugs and will not fit so do NOT buy them.
The NC24 uses NGK C8EH9 plugs, like those below.

Yes, HH does and I see that is last in the lest, I think the original poster is confusing terms here, as RH / RJ refer to the model years of the NC24.

So, I will assume your picking the NC24 from some kind of search list, if will normally give you the NC24 models by years, so you will see something like
NC24: VFR400
RH / VFR400
RJ etc.
These refer to the years, pads are the same, when you get to buy the pads you often have a choice. The compounds are often referred to as GG and HH.
Your main options are GG and HH, GG are softer organic pads and kinder to your discs, this is like what Honda fitted to the bike originally and what i'd recommend.
HH pads often have sintered metal in them and have more initial bite but will wear the discs faster.
