r1 front end one fzr400 1wg

Post by nestor555 »

Hi guys nabbed myself a fzr400 1wg with a 600 lump in it, got a bargain, I've had a r1 front end laying about and im wanting to fit it, has anyone attempted it? I know the r6 has been done before, any help? Cheers, pics to follow.

It's been done on a 3TJ - I think you might need to measure up the steering stem, but you'll probably need to have the 1WG stem pressed into the bottom yoke then fit it up to check the lock stops.

The only drawback is going to be the speedo - the 1WG is mechanical and runs off the front wheel the R1 is on the front sprocket (maybe ???) and is electric ... you might find you can rig in an R6 clockset or a Koso unit. Bicycle speedos are a bit rubbish.

Anyone know if mikuni flatside carbs are standard on the fzr600 engine?

Looks a little low at the rear of belly pan but not as big as I thought tbh. What are the options for dealing with the engine case holes ?
