This has been discussed quite alot lately, some people use fully synth to good results some say the clutch slips while using it, i have good results using motul 5100 semi synth, if i remember right 2.4l is how much you need, probably worth getting yourself a haynes manual.

Hi, yeah I use fully synth Castrol power one I think its called, my nc30 and fzr4 love the stuff, and wouldn't use anything else in my 400's now. Just don't use car fully synth as you will get clutch slip!!!!! I've tested this on me trail bike and using car full synth oil made its clutch slip but bike oil doesn't.
Cheers

I'm running Morris super sport 4 10/40 in my NC30 track bike

Consumption was just under 1/2 a litre on my last days thrash around Brands Hatch Indy

Stock 10/40 semi-synth of a decent brand should be more than adqueate for normal riding. Whatever is cheaper between fully / semi synth BIKE oil I usually buy.

Fully synth is not required to provide proper lubrication so the main benefit becomes longer changing intervals due to the superoir breakdown qualities of fully synth. If you change fully synth as often as semi-synth then your just throwing money away in my eyes.

I use She'll advance ultra 4 fully synth in my track bike. I heard of the clutch slip rumour so I did a bit of research before and the shell stuff meets the JASO standard so it won't cause clutch slip. £32 including filter and wrench from Busters. Free delivery too.
