So ive started a overhaul on the engine due to water in the oil and after rebuilding my bike I've been unable to start the bike no matter which way I set the cams up. Checked the carbs and spark plugs. Funny thing is It was running before I took it apart. Stupid me never checked the timing marks. From all my research on this site ive noticed the rear cam has a front cam meaning it should be 180 degrees out? Only question I have should timing marks be facing up or facing down?

the service manula is in the downloads section, it tells you how to take out and how to reinstall the cams.

Ive used it to put camshafts in before.

@Neosophist Ive got a number of manuals that show you how the cams should be positioned. One says down the other says up? So ive tried the mall down gonne give it a shot with them all facing up. Although im pretty convinced I was having issues due to electric on the NC30 which I should have sorted soon.

ignore whatever you have, the genuine Honda service manual written by the people who wrote the bike is in the downloads section.

Dont just guess, if your cams are wrong you can bend the valves and destroy the engine.

Follow the section called instaling the cams after removing them all. Ive personally used the genuine Honda manual in the downloads section several times so I know there are no mistakes in it.

Alright ill give it another try. I would just like to find out the front cams are marked "FR" and the rear is market "RR" but the exhaust rear cam is market "FR" as an exhaust cam. The owner I bought the NC30 from replaced it with a front cam as he broke the original "RR" exhaust cam. How would I go about this? Installing it like the manual or would it have to be 180 degrees opposite?
