Tach redline at 10k RPM

I bought an NC30 today and only afterward noticed that the tach only goes to 15k and the redline is at 10k. I believe it's aftermarket, as the speedo is digital haha
Can anyone confirm that the NC30 is safe to rev to 14.5k? It seems odd that the tach only goes 500 RPM past that...
Mega cheers!

Yeah redline is just after 14.5 with standard tacho, looks like you've got aftermarket bars instead of clip ons too?

Aftermarket stuff.
koso copy?
Yes its safe to run to the red-line with stock ignition box but beware of chinese igntiion units incase it has one of thsoe as they often dont have a rev limiter or its too high

Thanks both, good to hear. It's so hard to trust aftermarket tachs lol (especially since it's not completely a match because for instance the fuel and gear indicators are static). I'm trying to think of a way to verify the RPM. It indicates an idle speed of 1300-1500, so that's good. In any case maybe the temperature gauge won't function, also maybe not the low fuel warning light. Oh well.
The bars:

what is this frankenbike :D
Thats an NC35 / RVF400 fuel tank.
cynical side of me says its a crashed bitsa that was rebuilt as a streetfighter type.
Bars look quite comfortable though.
Gear light and fuel light wont work without modifications to tank to add senor and gear position indicator.
There not really needed anyway.. id focus on getting a working temp gauge though

If the bike has a standard cdi (under the pillion seat, Honda code starts with MR8) then it will have a rev limiter which cuts in at an indicated 14,500 revs on the standard tacho so over revving it shouldn't be an issue.
Where are you located? I once viewed a very similar bike.

I've ridden it for about 4 hours now and it seems very stable, even at speed. I've dropped a bike before and noticed a wobble but there's nothing like that here. Granted, the tank moves a bit from side to side, and the radiator overflow is a plastic bottle zip-tied to the frame, but I'd say I'm happy so far :)

I was watching for a light to turn on today, in city traffic at 30+ Celsius, but never saw a thing. When I parked it I could hear the fan running after I shut it off. I'll just trust it for now. The bottle on the side lets me see how excited the water is to get out, which is kind of reassuring.

Hmm, I'll take a look under the seat. I remember some sort of small (maybe 1x2x2 inches) black plastic box with wires there, so maybe that's it. I'm in Hong Kong. Australia FTW, I'm hoping to get there by the end of the year.
