Hey guys,

I put up a classified, but with little come back so looking at alternatives.

i need to replace the in tank fuel filter as the previou owner had a strange idea about fuel flow!

As I have already purchased a RO tap rebuild kit I just wanted to replace the actual filter element.

Does anyone know if one from the 750 VFR's from the mid 90's will fit? although the tap is different, the filter element looks quite similar! [and a hell of a lot cheaper!]

Cheers,

Richard

Not sure you will find just the filter element alone so I would suggest you keep stalking EBay for a full fuel tap assembly (http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/HONDA-VFR400- ... 258ad0123d)...

......or alternatively I would be giving Graeme France a call (http://www.gfracinguk.com/contact_us.html) of Dgeoff33 (member on here) a PM. I am sure one of them would be able to sort you out with a complete tap assembly. ;)

Cheers, just dropped them both a message;

Yeah I was just trying to be tight, I can get a 750 fuel tap and filter for £10 odd, rather than the £40 they wanted for the one on ebay - they're the only two I could see where the filter element looked similar!

I run a complete 750 fuel tap on my race bike. You just have to use one of the 750 fuel hoses that has a 90 degree bend in it to complete the conversion. Works great!

Not off hand, I'll try to take a pic tonight. It looks nearly identical to the stock NC30 tap except that the outlet points towards the right side of the tank instead of forward, and no vacuum stuff of course.

Cool. Thanks. Does the 750 tap mod do anything different to the HRC fuel tap mod? What year 750?

No, it basically addresses the same problem in a slightly different way. This would be the tap from the "4th generation" VFR750, so '94-'97, the one styled like the NR.

Nice. Thanks. I'm am (possibly) having some troubles around this area (on a race bike) so worth knowing if I need to replace stuff.

Thanks again.

NC30 parts are hard to come by in the U.S., sometimes you have to get creative! Besides, it's a race bike, no need for the vacuum valve.
