Quick clutch question, I've fitted a new clutch cable to my other halfs NC30, in order to get the adjustment correct the cable adjusters on both lever and engine side have to be wound out to their max. Clutch doesn't slip but slightly clunky to get into 1st. I'm wondering if its due to worn clutch plates or if the clutch pushrod is marginally too short? Has anyone put a ball bearing or roller in there to extend it?

I think nearly ALL bikes clunk going into first..but if they are on max settings already with new cable theres obviously wear in the clutch.havent heard of anyone lenthening clutch pushrod on nc,but have on other bikes with results.

Was the clutch cable OEM or pattern?

The cables a slinky glide, used them before on other bikes but perhaps it's too long? It does feel like its not disengaging the clutch enough. I'm in two minds whether or not to order a new friction plate set or a genuine cable?

I'd say the cable is too long.
Get a genuine one and if that doesn't work then you know it'll unfortunately be something a bit more expensive.
Always try the cheapest solution first
