Voltmeter wiring

Post by Repsolnc30 »

Hi have just bought the koso voltmeter to keep an eye on the voltage and charging system, I was going to take the switch live from the headlight and then other cable to earth, where would be the nearest earth at the front of the bike ?

The whole bike is an earth. Bolt your earth to any bit of metal that is connected to the main frame. You don't need to use a specific earth point. You can in effect have an earth maybe one or two inches long should mounting position of the meter allow it.

Wire the voltmeter directly across the battery.

i added a cigarette lighter socket to mine and have a voltmeter that plugs into it - can always use it as a phone charger / satnav power supply then
