Nc30....what to ask price wise!

Post by stevex11sdw »

Hello All,

I have my VFR400Nc30 for sale at the moment in the for sale section. The bike is a little stunner and I paid £2995 for it four going on five years ago. It has been on the trailer to Donnington Park with my blade on three occasions and sadly has only done maybe four laps on one occasion with me favouring the blade as my friends all have superbikes.

Bike really just sits in the garage looking good now following a couple of offs on the blade and a promise ( during my morphine haze in hospital) to my wife I would not ride sports bikes again.

Barring a small repair to fairing (between V and F in photo) and a gravel scratch underneath, both of which you probably wouldn't notice unless pointed out, and a sweet low mileage engine led me to believe someone would be getting a great deal at £2500.

The chap that has arranged to come over this weekend has just text to say he thinks the price should be £1800 to £2000 following conversations with a few forum members so we are some ways apart. He seems a nice bloke but I have already turned down an offer of £2k from a another forum member.

I would really like a feel for what good ones go for with low mileage and am I being unrealistic? Take a look at it in for sale bit and I would appreciate your thoughts........

Steve

ignore the dealer prices, and see what they are actually selling for.
while this one looks a nice example and better than the ebay botza dross its still IMO a 2k bike
i think come spring you may get your 2500 if you hold out, but as for now i reckon 2k is more the norm.

If your getting rid just for the money then wait a bit. if getting rid because you want to make room for something else then fair enough.

Anyway - what's the TT ? 225 ? any more pics ? i have a glacier blue metallic 3.2 DSG coupe

There you go fella!

Its the 150 on a 54 plate with 46k on it in pretty much mint condition. Had an A3 S LINE (co car) and loved it. Changed jobs and was offered a company car allowance and car pretty much paid for itself in 10 months. Got to love free motoring with the top down. Last soft top I bought cost 9 times what I paid for the TT and I lost a fortune on it so the TT is refreshing. Only thing I changed was cloth interior which is why my garage is so cluttered as you can't give away cloth seats even if they look new.

Don't want to be a greedy bast**d when it comes to bike price so if it works out the consensus is £2k is a fair price for right now sale, that's what it will go for but I wouldn't let it go for any less than that as it's worth that to look at daily!.

If bike had sold the money may well have gone on this....

Or this though I would have had to hide it from my wife

I sold my 6000 mile VFR for £2k a few weeks ago and it was pretty tidy to say the least. However it's your bike and I'm sure if you held of until the start of summer you very well may get £2500 for it but if your in a hurry then you probably won't.

150 makes much sense on the roadster, bigger boot and lets be honest its a summer car so no need for the 4wd Quattro so better MPG

I sold an astra Twintop CDTI last year, and didn't know what to try next, so decided to try a Mk1 TT, started looking at the cheaper end of the spectrum - they were all shot. 4k ones were OK ish, but then i drove the V6 - no point looking at a 225 after that.
I ended up spending the same money as i got for my astra for a 53k 53 plate 3.2 DSG and i have to say its awsome. the noise it makes is just ace, fuel economy is around 30, and it's got some shove when you boot it.

I did however want another cabrio for summer so was looking at a roadster 150, in the end i bought an Astra Mk4 Exclusiv the last of the soft top astra's
I had one before the twintop and loved it cheapness to run and maintain and was a true 4 seater. it feels a bit soft and squishy after the Twintop and TT, but good fun and light.

Sorry back to the NC30, you would do well keeping it for a bit, spring around the corner and good quality NC's are thin on the ground now.

Cheers Zippy.......i've just bit the bullet and reduced the bike to 2k as I spoke to Marius the owner of the aprilia above that is on ebay earlier today as I thought I had a buyer coming over tomorrow. Nice bloke and we both bitched about selling bikes. Sounds a nice bike for both riding with mates which is the main thing I miss since blade has gone and track as I don't mind binning a 2k bike.....well obviously I would mind but paid 9k for 09 Repsol Blade which cost a fortune on two occasions to put right.

Promised the wife I wouldn't have another sports bike but I miss feeling exhausted after a days track riding with some great lads and hardly being able to drive home!.

That Aprillia should be discounted for having such a gash can bolted to it.

Indeed - of course, here is my TT
2004, currently on 59k miles, it has the optional parking sensors, cruise control and QS alloys.

I did want a Missano red 3.2 with the white leather and missed out on one, but i have to say this colour is growing on me alot. when it's clean it looks stunning and is a very conservative none shouty version of what is normally a shouty car if that makes sense.
