nc30 wont start

hi sorry to bother you guys but i went to go out today a my bike point refuses to start. Battery voltage is 14.5v so should be ok there's no instrument lights when ignition on tried to bump start it but that failed. Any help would be greatly appreciated

Does anything light anywhere? If not, try checking the main fuse by the starter solenoid.

14.5 v ! That sounds way to high or was it on charge at the time?

Checked and replaced the fuse still nothing. It wasn't on charge at the time

have you checked where the ignition module plugs into the rest of the loom?
Right hand side of the bike about knee height the biggest of the black plugs. Look for damage, check it's switching with a meter, clean the contacts, etc.

Sounds like your reg/rec is fried mate and may have boiled the battery, have a look at the Regualtor and give the battery a charge see if you get any luck.

Correct me if im wrong but how could a 12v battery be showing 14.5v by itself in any way? I'd be checking the multimeter? The max I've ever seen a 12v battery is 13.2v right after charging (takes about 24h to settle down to 12.8)...

however, I know it sounds silly but make sure the kick stand is up . my type 8 has a kick stand indicator and wont start with it down......!!

A standard 12v automotive battery is made up of 6 x 2.1v cells at full charge open circuit, which gives a full charge of 12.6v.
However, after charging a battery it does have a float charge like you said, you can scrub this off by putting main beam on for a few minutes.
14.5 volts does sound really high though, could be some really extreme float charge, or were you measuring it wit a charger still conneted?
could be a crappy mutimeter too..
best way is testing after a blast with main beam to knock the float charge off
