little help please,

got a motor in bits at the minute, on the input shaft there is a needle bearing that sits into the crankcase, it is located by a small dowel, on mine this dowel is flush with the crankcase seat so it doesn't hold the needle bearing in place.

item 33 on the attached,

the dowel that is in my crankcase is not locating into the recess in the needle bearing holder. I am also unable to get the dowel out as there is nothing to get hold off and it wont come out with a magnet!!

according to Haynes the needle bearing holder on the input shaft should locate onto this dowel, I assume to stop it spinning within the crankcase an knackering the seat!!

any help ideas or pointer please!

Someone has probably assembled the crankcase without the bearing and dowel aligned,
This has pressed the dowel into the case,You will probably find the dowel has pushed through the outer side of the case
if you look you will see the crankcase cracked, you will need to tap the crankcase with a small hammer you will see the dowel rise back up,The crankcase won't leak but a spot of weld or some cemical metal would helpo keep it together.
