Does anyone make FZR400 specific crash bungs for the front and rear wheel axles / spindles, or for the frame?
Maybe with rear crash bungs I could use a paddock stand??

I'm not aware of any but Morepower did some frame guards.
When the 3TJ goes down the bodywork takes the damage - it's a bit more flexible than the 1WG stuff. The can will push onto the swingarm. The frame is damaged by the clipon which is folded back and makes a dent in it.
The problem with crash bungs is they can transmit the impact into a point rather than allowing the bodywork to take it. Obviously that can trash th fairings and their brackets but it's better than punching the frame. the second problem is if they dig in they can flip the bike, damaging both sides. Finally the threaded mounting point can be elongated when the bung's bolt is bent

ah right - so probably not worth doing. Is there an easy way to sort out the lack of bobbins in the swing arm though?

You could get some threaded tube welded onto the arm, or if it's a 3TJ you can look for an SP arm but they use different wheel spacers and brake hanger.
If you're looking to use a paddock stand though, why not get an Abba Superbike Stand, they use the swingarm pivots and are probably the best stand around.

We just drill and tap the axle blocks on the RR swingarm to take an M6 bolt, it's quick and easy.

If you look at them you can see there's loads of room to drill and tap the block near where it's welded to the fabricated part of the arm, just under where the bolt threads in.
If I go into work tomorrow I'll take a photo.
