sloppy clutch lever

My clutch lever has a lot of slop in it. Do the perches wear and will getting a new one on it improve things or are they sloppy right from the get-go?
I've just ordered a new cable and figured while I fit it would be a good time to replace the perch if its going to improve things...

Mines got a fair bit of wiggle on it, doesn't really bother me, still works

ditto. Think they are all the same.
If it bothers you that much can you not fit a washer to the pivot below the lever to reduce the slop?

Quite possibly - if the concensus was that a new perch would tighten it all up then i'd do it. if not, i'll just live with it.
