Another chain tension thread

Hey hey, Have been banging my head against a wall over this one, but how do you get the chain tension set on an NC35? The other threads on this forum are rather inconclusive.
The bike has a +2 rear sprocket and even then you cant get 25mm slack total (up and down) before hitting the swingarm. The hub is installed correctly with the shaft at the lowest point.
How is everyone else doing it? At the moment I'm just doing it by trial and error till it feels alright but by god what a pain in the butt that is!
Was thinking maybe its possible to set it how I like by trial n error then measure the max vertical deflection of the top chain run and use that to set the chain consistantly. Ideas?
Cheers!
