NC24 Neutral light switch

Hi
I just imported a 1987 NC24 into the USA from UK. First issue I have been tackling was lack of spark which I traced to a faulty neutral light switch.
Does anyone have the part number or know what other models had the same switch?
Thanks

Neutral switch is wired to starter circuit not ignition, interesting that you found a faulty neutral switch to be the cause for lost ignition.

I thought so too but there was no spark until I grounded the wire to the switch. I know the switch is faulty.

Are there any other electrical items that do not work unless you ground the neutral switch wire.

i cant remember the way the NC24 is wired up from the top of my head.
It has 4 separate coils, were you getting no spark on all of them?
Theres a couple of earth tags on the bike, perhaps you have a bad earth
I seem to remember riding my NC24 around with the neutral switch disconnected adn the biek worked fine apart from no neutral light and needing to be started with clutch pulled in (could have been a different bike!)
part number for the switch is 35600-KE8-003
common as hell and used on hundreds of bike, so any main dealer can get one, new theres only about 10 us dollars.

you can order one here plus see a big list of all the bikes it fits.

Thank you for the Number, I knew it would be on more models but could not remember which.
Everything else worked, just no spark. All the earths and connections seemed good.
Thanks again

I would be concurned that the neutral switch is an integral part of the ignition system. Do not know of any NC24/30/35 wiring system that has the neutral switch as part of the ignition circuit.
Does the "in-gear" starter button lockout function correctly, can you start the engine in gear with the clutch pulled in?

I still have not got it running yet. The new plugs just arrived and I have to put them in and I may need to clean the carbs as it was sitting for a couple of years.
Plus I have some customer race bikes to finish.

Doesnt the side stand switch kill the ignition if the clutch is relised/out and stand down so you cant ride with the stand down? My klr did but i've never tried it on the vfr. Just a thought.
