Engine durability

I know they are pretty solid engines, but what is deemed to high when it comes to mileage.
I'm on the hunt for one (rvf) and it seems given the age I'm looking at bikes that have done a few miles.
What is generally the first thing to begin to wear out in the engine?

Cheers

As long as these engines have been looked after properly then you should have no problems with them.

A member on here has one that has gone round the clock with regular maintenance and hasn't had any major work done at all.

It's the electrics you need to be worried about

Yeah when I had one back in the day it ate rectifiers..... The aftermarket alarm did help matters either.

I'm looking at doing a full restoration, but I don't really want to pull the engine apart if I can help it..... The mrs can't cope with another selection of engine parts in the dishwasher again:)

I did 70,000kms (43,000 miles) on my NC21 back in the day. Nothing more than carbs balanced, valve clearances, and regular oil changes.

This one has done 74,000 miles and the engine is still quiet, it does not look like it was maintained to the highest standard

If anyone has damaged UK NC30 mirrors, the RC30 mirrors will fit if the mountings are changed and the arms and mirror backs are then painted black.
