Hi. Just a general question i have been thinking of.

Was reading the forum and see like the later 29s the 35s are restricted to 53bhp. Now on the 29s a bit of carb jigery pokery and your back to full power. Does the 35 run along the same lines or are you stuck to what Honda intended?

Most of the restriction is in the standard rvf muffler.

replace it with an aftermarket muffler (and jet accordingly) and power is similar to nc30.

Strange that Honda had such different restriction ideas for both machines carb washers vs restricted exhaust

Surely washers would be cheaper? So why not use this for the nc35?

Yep i agree it might have been cheaper but i suppose theres a possibility that the later designed 35 bike was designed with this restriction in the design brief. Where as the 29 seems to be a cheap fudge to keep on selling a popular design.

I had my rvf race bike dyno'd this week, and (without the ramair carbs on as they are in for cleaning) it made just under 60bhp. with the ramair i would expect it to make around 64-65bhp. This was done on the same dyno as the Team V4 RVf from Swansea Uni and their bike made 65bhp. This was a low read dyno but it shows that getting those extra ponies is not that easy or cheap. The upside is, the VFR and RVF corner speed and handling is (in my opinion) always better than the IL4's.
