Missing airbox duct, NC35

Hi

My NC35 is missing the rubber air duct that mounts on the airbox lid.

Do anybody know if it will affect the performance of the bike? Never heard it was a "mod" to take this duct off.

My bike has a hard time pulling to the redline in 6th. From 12.000 rpm it gets really slow (I know it can be many things). I comparison my naked NC29 pull to the redline without trouble. Both on standard gearing.

Anyone got some input? :)

Kind regards
Martin

On a standard/street stock NC35 it is often not recommend to adjust both the airduct or even the simple rubberflap...it has been covered by some other members on here before. Symptoms like a bad running engine etc. Best use one as per standard and for sure the simple rubber flap just after the headstock inside engine bay. For racing purposes it depends on level/stages of tuning.

I dont run any ducting on my 35 stock carb setup, runs right through the redline, have a look at the air filter.

had this problem with my NC30 the faster you go the leaner its getting the air duct just restricts the air and directs it properly instead of being a rough entrance into the carbs the part is still available I think saw a guy get a new one recently.

Airfilter is fine, K&N item.

Think I'll get an airduct, they can't cost much.

Problem can of cause also come from the carbs themselves. When I had them off to check them I saw both front and rear had #115 main jets in. The rear ones usually tend to be a size larger than front, right?

12k rpm in 6th is 120mph on a RVF400 with std gearing. Would be impressed if you could get the little thing to 16k rpm..

Ok, makes sense :) New to the RVF, so I don't know.
I only have my nc29 to compare with :)

I've had about 14K in top from mine, and it was still going. Stock, apart from a Scorpion can.
