I had Sp2 calipers with stock master cylinder and they were poor compared with standard. Lever pulled right back, bleeding made no difference. So you should modify, sorry, no idea what with. Sold that one to a guy on here for his son, funnily enough appeared back on here 2 weeks later, from Chester! That's another story tho...

Your best bet is obviously a SP2 M/C. Failing that find the bore of the SP2 M/C (14mml, 1/2", 5/8") and find another the same.

There you go, so any 5/8" m/c should feel good. Early blade etc.
cheers mark

929 blade has a 5/8

I run a blade one on mine....but any will do.

edit to add - it is stamped on the casting and it is a very easy thing to find out.

cbr600rr/fx/f4
918/929/954 blades
sp1 and sp2
cbr1300 big one..

I think late 90s FireBlade ones with the remote res fit the bill. I've got a pair of 600RR3 calipers which I believe are the same ones as the Blade, SP2 and the like. On the 600, the reservoir is part of the bracket assembly, which I reckon would foul the air tube. So when I swap the calipers, I'm going to keep the remote reservoir and bracket from the stock setup. I hope...

I did loads of looking at m/cs when I got my calipers, and while I don't have the notes handy, I seem to recall Honda changed things about between the SP1 and SP2 models, and also the 929 and 954. I may have posted the findings in one of the other threads on this subject. I think they played about with 5/8 and 11/16, from memory.

Here we go:

SP1 3/4 (19mm)
SP2 11/16 (17.5mm)
900RR 92-95 9/16 (14mm)
919RR 96-99 5/8 (16mm)
929RR 00-01 3/4
954RR 02-03 11/16
1000RR 04-? 11/16
600RR 03-? 11/16

If I recall correctly, some of the very earliest 899 Blades had a 5/8 m/c fitted as stock, but this was replaced with a 9/16 job after a very short period of production rather than during a model change. ie one of those annoying things where you need the chassis number to know what you need for your bike.
