Repairing a water damaged CDI?

I know what most people will say (just get another) but I am trying to build a 2nd bike out of parts and have a really tight budget.
I have a CDI that stopped working after a drop of water got in there. Way I see it, I have nothing to lose and if I can get it working then I'll save having to source another
Anyone ever attempted this or have any useful info?
Cheers
Luke

Mid-race, conditions damp but drying, come out of a corner and the engine shuts off - electrical/kill switch style. Check plugs, coils etc. Swap to ignitech and the bike fires up straight away
Also before the the race I did the old HRC style hacksaw to the rear undertray job and didn't protect the CDI well enough from moisture getting flicked up from the rear tyre.

Try a shit-ton of WD-40? If something shorted from the water it might by done.

Have you tried using it lately, might have dried out since the christening. Otherwise remove circuit board from box and apply hair drier if necessary, then clean off any residue dirt/stains. Most of the delicate components are sealed against moisture.
