NC30 running problems

Hi All,

When coming back from the Donnington Classic Bike festival on my NC30 I was riding along a back road (not particularly fast) and all of a sudden my bike stopped revving out cleanly above 6000rpm. It was stuttering and just generally not pulling very well all of a sudden with no prior warning. It wasn't on reserve tank, and had been running perfectly prior to this, and seemed to be running fine below 6000rpm. I am unsure whether its all cylinders or maybe just one or two?

The bike has the HRC fuelling mod (no vacum pipe) and runs and idles fine. It also rev's cleanly on idle and above 6000rpm with no problems.

I personally reckon its fuelling but not sure exactly what... Can you help??! Going to whip the carbs off tomorrow evening and check the float bowls...

Cheers,

Tm

Too add, I'm fairly sure its not the fuel filter as I recently cleaned it!!

Cheers, Tom

Which fuel filter are you referring to?

Sounds to me like the carbs were running out of petrol. Did you try switching the tap to reserve and seeing if the problem disappeared?

to add - that they don't like fuel filters in line on the fuel hose..so I'll go with my main man Cammo - you have starved it of fuel with the filter :ugeek:

Sorry, when I say fuel filter I mean the internal one within the tank. Basically its a standard fuel system! When I switched the tap to reserve, it didn't improve and I have since filled it with fuel and its still bad.

Having discussed it at work, my thoughts are it may be a coil has gone?

I have taken the carbs off anyway and will check them this afternoon.

I have the same issue. Coils swapped with new, carbs gone through and jetted, petcock flows great, plugs look great.

baffled :(
