Hi all,

What are your thoughts on buying from Yahoo auctions Japan? Have been looking at systems for NC30's and seen this one for only approx. £400 on what appears to be a 'buy it now' option- bargain!!

Does buying something like this actually work out cheaper when shipping/handling/taxation are included?

I have emailed Moriwaki man about this however still awaiting a reply...

Cheers, Tom

With regards to final price wait for a quote to come through, with the pound being quite strong against the Yen you can get some things for a good price.

Not sure when you sent the mail but Japan is 8 - 9 hours ahead of the UK so you'll probably get a reply soon.

Nice looking system and not too commmon.

No, not usually in my opinion (especially for bulky items). Once you add seller fees, deputy fees, and postage & handling it adds a substantial cost.

I've used it a lot in the past for rare items which I was happy to pay a high price for, though even these have pretty much dried up on yahoo Japan these days.

I always find myself most happy when I don't even try to get a bargain off Yahoo Japan and just realize I'm getting something rare.

I believe that is a Yamamoto system and their stuff is still available new (from them directly) and even right off the web although not at that nice price.
