Recently, a '98 Version S bike came up for sale which picked up my interest in these bikes. The bike was 300km away from me, but I was pretty keen to take a look. To cut a long story short, the seller pissed me about for a week so I told him where to go!
Then, completely by chance, I was riding the streets here in Siem Reap and I spotted a VTEC 2 with a tiny little hand written for sale sign parked by the side of the road! Stopped for a look and had a chat with the guy selling it. He wanted $2500US for it. I offered him $1700. He declined and I went home. Got a call the next day saying he would take the $1700 and I picked it up yesterday!
What a great bike! I'm gonna have some serious fun with it! The other bike I was looking at was a 1250 Bandit, but the 400 is much more suitable for the roads of Cambodia. It's got a low chassis number, so I'm guessing the bike is a 2002, finished in pearl black with gold wheels. The black paint on the metal engine parts needs a little bit of tidying but I'm gonna get out and have a bit of fun with it first. Anyway, looks like there is loads of really useful info on this site, so I'll be back! More than happy to meet for a beer if by any chance there are any other riders in Cambodia!
Regards, Andy.
