Hi

I have a nice 5.25" rear wheel on my nc35. It needs a new tyre. Right now it's got a 160/60-17 BT-090 on.
The tyre wall doesn't look quite right (it curves). It's seems the tyre is a bit to narrow for that wide rim. Though the tyre is very close to the chain.

What size tyre do people run on these wide rims?
Do you put spacers between the sprockets to gain more clearence to the chain?

Kind regards
Martin

I used Mich 160/63 Supermoto's on my Race RVF and Diablo 160 Supacorsa's on road RVF, Race is on 5.25 Dymag and Road on 5.5 Marchesini. Both look and handle find, sorry never run Bridgstone Drys, only wets and run them on stock 4.5 rims.
Not sure how many on here run Dymags on road bike but sure someone will be able to help. But sure all will run 160's as cant really fit anything else in due to chain and swing arm space.

Bridgestone doesn't make an 090 they suggest for that wide a rim.

Road:
http://www.bridgestone.com/products/mot ... x/s20.html -> 170 would be my suggestion
http://www.bridgestone.com/products/mot ... bt023.html -> 170 is the proper tire

Racing:
http://www.bridgestone.com/products/mot ... index.html -> Sumo 165
Their slick is also available in a 165 and 180.

Cheers lads :)

Got a part worn 160 supercorsa from my nc29 trackbike. I'll try to stick that one on.

You're probably right, that a 170 tyre will touch the swing arm

165 gp slick. I got the same wheel. You can also use a 165 gp slick on a stock RVF400 wheel.
