howdy 400 grey guru's

my NC23 CBR400 RRJ 1988 TRI ARM failed the evil MOT , due the forks , they have small pin pricks and slightly pitted, after closer inspection they seemed to have a crease in the stanchion .

my actual question is, is there any other pair of honda forks of this era that will fit, I've seen on forums that NC29 forks might and also been told that other models may fit.. but am unsure..

any advice would be awesome

cheers Jon

Im pretty sure NC29 forks are too short. Check on ebay as there is loads there for sale or ask Graeme France from this forum

Mmmm I was curious about this - so went and measured up in the garage. My 1994 NC29 forks are 722mm from the centre of the wheel spindle to the top of the stanchions - my 1989 NC23 measures 725mm. I wouldnt have thought 3mm would make a lot of difference on a road bike.

Stimpy is right, the early 600's are 41mm diameter, but are loads longer, so you would end up with about 75mm sticking out of the top yoke to keep the same ride height as standard with 400 forks.

My 2p worth

P.S if you are still after some NC23 forks I may be breaking the above 23
