Heat hammer and a drift
It might have some kind of bearing adhesive on it that the heat will soften up.

A hammer was my first thought and i did give it a little tap but it showed no sign of movement so thought id check in here first.
Any ideas as to which way it will come out? Ive never seen the bare case but my guess it would knock out towards the side casing.

The one on me klr was quite tight and had a oring in it, took a bit of persuasion with a hammer to break the oring seal, but maybe a quick ring to confirm first would be a good idea. Klr one went outwards from the engine internals just like the starter motor would do, if that make any sence?
Cheers
