electrical problem

i'm still fixing fairings so my 3tj1 has one of those small front fairings used on dirt bikes just to have a front light. i took a lamp from my original 3tj front light, took the plastic plug off the wires and connected each wire ( the yellow black and the other one i don't remember) to each of the lamp's contacts(?). yesterday the light went dead and when i took it apart i saw it had burned the lamp where the black wire was connected. now i have no horn, no front light and the rear light only works when i brake, otherwise it's dead to. what can this be? will i need to get a new lights/horn switch? have i burned the whole thing?

have you checked the fuses ??? I know it's an easy thing.

After that, the black wire is the earth so if that's burn you really need to check back along the circuit. It must be something fairly close to the fuses or main take off so check the wires into the main block connectors

Glad it was a simple thing and easy to repair.
It's good to know fuses actually do what they're suposed to do.
